Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
1. Scope and contact
This notice covers the public news website at seedwire.co and its newsletter signup. Related services on other subdomains have separate data practices. For privacy requests, write to privacy@seedwire.co. You can read the site without subscribing. This notice explains processing; visiting the site is not consent to optional tracking.
2. Information and purposes
Newsletter signup stores the email address you submit and the signup time so we can maintain your requested subscription. Hosting and security services process network information such as IP address, requested URL, browser details and request time to deliver pages and limit abuse. Search terms are sent to our site to return matching articles. The news site has no reader account, payment form, comments or public file-upload facility. Please do not submit sensitive information in search queries.
3. Public sources and editorial processing
News coverage uses publicly available reporting, feeds and source pages. These can contain names, roles, statements and other information about people in the news. Source material and editorial records are retained to support verification and corrections. Text-generation providers process source material and drafts; an image-generation provider processes illustration prompts. Newsletter addresses are not part of these editorial requests. Generated illustrations should not be treated as photographs documenting an event.
4. Providers and optional Google features
Cloudflare provides hosting, database, image delivery and security services. Authorized operators access information to administer the site and respond to requests. Editorial service providers include OpenAI and Anthropic for text and OpenRouter and its selected image provider for illustrations. Google Search Console supplies search-performance information. If you enable Google reader features below, your browser connects to Google Reader Revenue Manager; Google receives network and browser information and may use cookies or other storage under its own privacy policy. Disabling the feature stops it loading on subsequent page loads; it does not erase information already received by Google. Links to other publishers take you to their sites and their own notices.
5. Browser storage and your choice
We store your choice about optional Google reader features in this browser. Those features stay off until you enable them. You can change your choice below. Hosting security may use cookies or similar mechanisms to protect requests. The site follows your device theme; it does not need a theme-preference cookie. Browser controls let you inspect and clear cookies and local storage. Clearing the Google-feature choice returns it to off.
6. Legal grounds and disclosures
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, newsletter signup relies on your request and consent. Delivering and protecting the site, handling requests and maintaining accurate news coverage serve legitimate interests, subject to applicable rights and journalistic protections. Legal obligations may require retention or disclosure. We may disclose relevant information to competent authorities when legally required, or to protect against abuse. Public articles can be read, indexed and copied by search engines and other readers. The newsletter database is not published with articles.
7. Retention and international processing
Newsletter records currently remain stored until removed; there is no automatic expiry of the subscriber list. Editorial articles and their verification records are kept as a publication archive and for corrections. Security and infrastructure records follow the providers’ applicable settings and retention practices. Providers operate internationally, so processing can take place outside your country. We do not promise that data stays in a particular country. Ask the privacy contact about retention, recipients and any transfer safeguards applicable to your information.
8. Your rights and newsletter choices
You may request access, correction or deletion, and, where applicable, portability or restriction of processing. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw newsletter consent at any time by writing to privacy@seedwire.co with the subscribed address and your request. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. We may need proportionate verification before releasing personal information. Rights may be limited by legal duties and protections for journalism, but these terms do not waive them. You may complain to your local data-protection authority; UK visitors can contact the ICO. The signup currently records your request; it does not guarantee a particular delivery schedule.
9. Security, children and updates
We use access restrictions and request protections, but cannot guarantee absolute security. The newsletter is intended for a general adult readership; please do not submit children’s information. Contact us about information submitted in error. Material changes to these practices will be reflected in this notice, with additional notice or consent where required.
Optional first-party usage measurement
Optional measurement stays off until you enable it in Usage choices. It records visits to four reviewed page types: home, about, privacy and terms. It does not record article addresses, searches, form contents or private messages. A signed cookie connects consented records for up to 30 days; these records are pseudonymous, not fully anonymous. Cloudflare processes and stores the records for site usage analysis. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track prevent collection. You can withdraw, export or erase covered records through Usage choices while the browser cookie is valid. Clearing that cookie removes browser access to historical records. Aggregate admission counters remain after erasure.
Optional Google reader features
Allow Google Reader Revenue Manager to load and receive browser information. Reading Seedwire does not require it.
